Beatriz Milhazes is a Brazilian plastic artist, participant of the contemporary movement. She started her studies in the "Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage in 1980, where she later on started teaching. Her most famous works are "O Mágico" (shown above), "Mariposa", "O espelho" and even the illustrations of the book "1001 Noites à Luz do Dia - Sherazade conta histórias árabes" written by Katia Canton.
Her art is well known as a blend of Pop Art and references to brazilian crafts.
